Hi Lennart,
very well said. I shows you are reading also outside the web... very good and thank you.
And most important to add: The fish must be nice and well taken care of in a natural surroundings, that is the most important.
Always

Re: A Blue Pair, What to do?
Hello,
A little update, Im guessing we are at 18 days freeswimming and Im guessing there are about 45 fry left. They are taking the decap brineshrimp really well now, Im going to try introducing some other stuff over next few days like cyclops, crumbed tetra prima and see how that goes. They are feeding alot on the algae on the back ground in the tank to and still enjoy abit of mum and dad.
The second pair now have freeswimming fry but I would put money on the fact that there will be none left by the morning.
Ive been trying to get good photos of the fry, but am struggling. Im no photographer but Im guessing I need a macro lens.

Re: A Blue Pair, What to do?
Hello,
A little while since I updated, I had a bit of a disaster about a week and a half ago, I discovered a crack in the base of my tank (750l) so had to run it at less than half full hoping that it didnt completely break which for a few days caused havoc as I couldnt water change, well things seem ok now and although I lost about a dozen fry everything is back on track, the fry are developing nicely and they even respond to me when I go to feed them.
They move home tonight, I set up a temporary tank yesterday for them and the adults (while the big tank is repaired or replaced) which will have a divider in it to seperate the fry from the adults. The parents are starting to look like they have had enough of the fry now.
Ive attached a couple of video links here, one at 12 days old, one at 22days old and one at 29 days old.

Re: A Blue Pair, What to do?
Hello Bucket,
Yes despite all the set backs like the tank cracking and my other new big tank not turning up even though I put the order in before Xmas things are going well. They are really growing, theres about 35 left and they are eating a mixture of granule, decap brineshrimp egg, daphnia, cyclops and Im working on a seafood mix for them. They are very responsive aswell, always on the look out for food.
I just bought today a dedicated growout tank and I have sponge filters matured ready for it so they will move into that in a couple of days.
Heres a video taken about a week or so ago of them in there temporary home, this is shared with the 6 adults while my big tank is being fixed and you can see the divider splitting them. Film is the only way I can get a record of them, my camera struggles in the low light, while the fry move around so much, so difficult to get in focus.

Re: A Blue Pair, What to do?
Hello,
After the disaster of the tank cracking and losing the last lot of fry and the adults being moved from temporary tank to temporary tank they finally got into thier new home a couple of moths ago and up untill a few days ago I thought the pair bonds had broken but they finally started spawning again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8vElAe7oxk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I managed to be about at the right time to video it this time but as per usual they have laid in an awkward place so I have had to take video from the far end of the tank.
Hope you enjoy.
