Hi matte,

this is a difficult question to answer, I have written a lot about this in my volume II.
Normally one can consider 5-6, but I have interviewed breeders which guaranteed me that they only start to breed with adults once the have reached 6 years of age. I have had (wild)Discus living 12 years and more, but I would say that still the normal (average) age should be anywhere between 5-8 years. In nature hardly more than 2-3 years.

More in my book to come,

always
