I use strawberries, blueberries, mango and a lot of different fruits in me mixes!
Most because of all the fibers an carbohydrates. I believe that we give especially big adult fishes to much protein and to little of the rest of the stuff they need.

That's cool, do you see any difference in colour and health?

IMHO fruits that are high in sugar are not recommended as they cloud water if I'm not mistaken. Not a problem if it's 100%WC everyday/meal or gobbled up quickly and cleanly. [discus never clean eaters with meat mix! ]

I mix the fruits whit a granulate made from fish whit a protinlevel of 58% and a fat level of 9% i blend it so its gets firm and thick. I have not notist any clouding of the water.

I'd use some spirulina at most. Discus are carnivores according to a Dr Alexander Chong in and article here http://forum.discusnews.com/discus-sion ... php?t=6707
Add some carotene juice perhaps for some colouring?

Hi,

this is Heiko Bleher and again all the very best, a healthy and happy new year to all of you.

I am writing here, as I wanted to know why this thread never continued? Has anyone feeding those fruits come up with some nice (positive or even negative) results?

Come on guys, tell us all about your almost 1-year-long experiment.

All the best from a discus collectors, writer researcher, keeper, importer, exporter - and that discus are carnivorous fishes is a MYTH, that is for sure and I was able to prove it....

Best regards
