Re: Water level
OK then, I´ll do just that. But first I like to say DROOOL. Having said that, I´ll step over to the waterquestion. :D The answers provided by mandisc make much sense. But I remember another possible reason for lowering waterlevels while breeding fry. Their effort to make for the surface can be somewhat exhausting. This is an important consideration for many species, for example catfish and labyrinthfish. And there are also difficulties for some species in the development of the swimbladder. I can´t help thinking that discusfish (sorry if I´m hurting someones feelings here) are somewhat inbred (just like champion guppies for example) and that this may increase the survivalrate for the fry because of this reason?

Re: Water level
You will also have a little extra oxygene obtained by the water with a lower level (same surface to less water), though I dont think that is the answer
Mario, how do you see the difference between male and female, and how many percentage from the offspring will be RGD when you breed them?
I really like them

Re: Water level
Perhaps, or better: Yes, but should this not be counteracted by a proper circulation (pump) in the tank? Anyhow, oxygen levels are shurely very important.moltrup32 wrote:You will also have a little extra oxygene obtained by the water with a lower level (same surface to less water), though I dont think that is the answer
