Re: Breeding Red Cover F1
Wow they are nice Boris. I'd keep an eye on the food and water quality. Some of the dorsal fin on the babies are not very well developed. This is normal but if the number is low then don't worry.

Hi there!
And thanks for sharing a update on your RC batch... Did you even get any that do look as RC at all?
And who his the creator of this strain/line of yours... i would guess it different genotype in RC when it comes to different creation/breeder line.
Did you receive any PB gen in the batch?
Brgds Danne

The outcast from the RC pair is fun to see, Now we know how the breeder did it

Re: Breeding Red Cover F1
Thank you all. These are actually more or less the different types that came from the first batch. Around 225, the 2 was around 200 Not a single true red cover though...
I think... the yellow head/orange body ones is pigeon based, but also with the ghost gene in them, they dont have the typical pigeon pepper, it looks more like wery fine dust. This will come and go away again, not stay like the pigeon pepper. The ghost (white one) changes the same way with dust. I am not able to see any dust on the san merahs, at 36,5 degree not a single fish show any dust
Matte they have grown way to slow for me I think, but I have had a lot of problems with bacteria on a lot of my discus for a wery long time now. At the moment it is not wisible, but I bet, that if I put a Stendker into the tank, I would not wait for more than a day or 2 before it reappears on the new one
The 2 batch has been isolatet and I hope that they havent caught this problem. They have a lot better shape than these guys, and grow the way I want them to.

Re: Breeding Red Cover F1
Can you post pictures of their parents again? All these don't seem to be 'RC'. Perfectly true RC should not have stress-bars.
Thanks,
Andrew
